And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Even then they say: 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
