Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
