Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
