The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 has created man, 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
