Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 Worship God, have fear of Him and obey me. 3 That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew. 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride. 7 "Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud); 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. 10 He will shower upon you torrents from heaven, 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
