The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ [The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away. 1 No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play 2 In sport being their hearts. And those who do wrong keep secret their private discourse this is but a human being like unto yourselves; will ye then betake yourselves to magic while ye know? 3 Say, "My Lord knows every word spoken in the heavens and on the earth. He is All Hearing, All Knowing." 4 "Nay," they say: "[Muhammad propounds] the most involved and confusing of dreams!" "Nay, but he has invented [all] this!" - "Nay, but he is [only] a poet!" - [and,] "Let him, then, come unto us with a miracle, just as those [prophets] of old were sent [with miracles]?" 5 Not one habitation that We destroyed before them had believed. So how can they believe? 6 And We sent not before thee but men unto whom We revealed; so ask the people of the admonition if ye know not. 7 We did not make their bodies immune to hunger, nor were they immortal. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 We have sent a Book, (the Quran), which is an honor for you. Will you then not understand? 10
