The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn, 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 and purify your robes, 4 stay away from sins 5 Give not, thinking to gain greater 6 And for the good-will of thy Lord be thou patient. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 So that is a tough day. 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 Then he looked, 21 Then he frowned and he scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
