Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till an appointed term, 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
