50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
