The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 Who createth, then disposeth; 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 who brings forth the pastures, 4 and thereupon causes it to decay into rust-brown stubble! 5 We shall make you recite (the Qur'an) so that you will not forget it, 6 save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it] 7 And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path). 8 Wherefore admonish thou; admonition hath surely profited, 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 but aloof from it will remain that most hapless wretch 11 he who [in the life to come] shall have to endure the great fire 12 Wherein he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). 13 Prosperous is he who has cleansed himself, 14 remembering his Lord's name and praying. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 even though the life hereafter will be better and will last forever. 17 Indeed, this is in the former scriptures, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
