Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the sun and its noon-time brightness, 1 and by the moon when she follows him, 2 by the day, when it displays it, 3 and the night as it veils it darkly! 4 By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure; 5 And [by] the earth and He who spread it 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 Prosperous is he who purifies it, 9 and failed is he who buried it! 10 (The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride, 11 When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with 12 And the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink." 13 However, they rejected him and slew her. So their Lord completely destroyed them and their city for their sins. 14 He dreadeth not the sequel (of events). 15

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
