And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 “And forgive my father* – he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 Do not betray me 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
