Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
