The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
