The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
