The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
