Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By heaven and the night-star! 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is no merriment. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
