Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 And those that strike violently, 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 And when the time comes for messengers -- 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
