Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
