The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
