The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the morning brightness 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased, 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 Verily your Lord will soon give you so amply that you will be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11
