۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
