The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 there is no denying its coming 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and flowing water 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
