Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 raised couches, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
