The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
