The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
