The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He hath created man. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
