The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
