A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind. 3 And a great number of towns (their population) We destroyed (for their crimes). Our torment came upon them (suddenly) by night or while they were sleeping for their afternoon rest. 4 and when Our scourge fell upon them, their only cry was, "We were indeed wrongdoers!" 5 Then verily We shall question those unto whom (Our message) hath been sent, and verily We shall question the messengers. 6 and thereupon We shall most certainly reveal unto them Our knowledge [of their doings]: for never have We been absent [from them]. 7 The weighing on that Day will be the true weighing: those whose scales are heavy will prosper. 8 And those whose (deeds) are lighter in the scale shall perish for violating Our signs. 9 We settled you on the earth, and provided means of livelihood for you in it; but little are the thanks you give. 10
