[Hence,] O you who have attained to faith, pay heed unto God and His Apostle, and do not turn away from Him now that you hear [His message]; 20 And do not be like those who said, “We have heard”, whereas they do not hear. 21 ۞ Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah's sight are the deaf, the dumb, who have no sense. 22 If Allah had found in them any good. He would indeed have made them listen: (As it is), if He had made them listen, they would but have turned back and declined (Faith). 23 O believers, respond to the call of God and His Prophet when he calls you to what will give you life (and preservation). Remember that God intervenes between man and his heart, and that you will be gathered before Him. 24 And beware of an affliction that will not smite exclusively those among you who have done wrong. Know that God is severe in exacting retribution. 25 And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might abduct you, but He sheltered you, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good things - that you might be grateful. 26 Do not betray God and His Messenger, and do not knowingly violate your trusts. 27 and know that your wealth and your children are a trial, and that with God is a mighty wage. 28
