Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, bow before him in homage;" 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 and the curse shall be on you till the Day of Judgement!" 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 He said, "You are granted respite 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 Said he, 'My Lord, for Thy perverting me I shall deck all fair to them in the earth, and I shall pervert them, all together, 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 Said Allah, “This path* leads straight towards Me.” (* The path of the chosen bondmen.) 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
