The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
