We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 He does not utter a single word, without a ready recorder seated next to him. 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 And the Trumpet was blown; “This is the Day of the promised punishment.” 20 Everyone has come, each attended by one who will drive him on, and another who will bear witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 Who set up with Allah another god. So cast him ye twain into the torment severe. 26 ۞ His companion said: “I did not incite him to rebel; he was far gone into error of his own accord.” 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 The word will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants." 29
