Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
