We come to you with good news. You shall have a son who shall be endowed with great knowledge." 53 Abraham asked, "Are you giving me the glad news of a son in my old age? What reason can you give for such glad news?" 54 They (the angels) said: "We give you glad tidings in truth. So be not of the despairing ones." 55 [Abraham] exclaimed: "And who - other than those who have utterly lost their way - could ever abandon the hope of his Sustainer's grace?" 56 He said: And afterward what is your business, O ye messengers (of Allah)? 57 They said, 'We have been sent unto a people of sinners, 58 “Except the family of Lut; we shall rescue all of them.” 59 "Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind." 60
