So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said, 'Surely you are a people unknown to me!' 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
