The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
