The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
