Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 A guide and a mercy for the Muhsinun (good-doers) 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 These are on a guidance from their Lord, and these are they who are successful: 5 And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 6 Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 For those who believe and work righteous deeds, there will be Gardens of Bliss,- 8 To abide therein. It is a Promise of Allah in truth. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 9 He hath created the heavens that ye behold without pillars, and hath cast into the earth firm mountains lest it move away with you; and He hath scattered thereon every kind of animal. And We send down water from the heaven and We make grow every kind of goodly growth therein. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
