T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah). 3 a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; 4 The ever-merciful, established on the throne (of authority). 5 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 Allah, there is no god except He. To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! 12 I have chosen you. Therefore, listen to what shall be revealed. 13 "Verily! I am Allah! La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) for My Remembrance. 14 Lo! the Hour is surely coming. But I will to keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striveth (to achieve). 15 Do not let anyone who does not believe in it and follows his own desires turn you away from it and so bring you to ruin." 16 And what is in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 He said: "Moses, throw it down." 19 He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. 20 Allah said:"Grasp it, and fear not, We shall return it to its former state, 21 "Now - as another Sign - place your hand under your arm and it will come out sheer white without harm (or stain). 22 That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
