T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 Whether you say a thing aloud or inaudibly, He has knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: "Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 Verily I am Allah. There is no god beside Me. So serve Me and establish Prayers to remember Me. 14 The Hour is coming. I almost conceal it, so that every soul will be recompensed for its labors. 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 "Now, what is this in thy right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 So he cast it down; and lo! it was a serpent running. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
