T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Quran unto you (O Muhammad SAW) to cause you distress, 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 The Most Compassionate Lord is settled on the Throne (of the Universe). 5 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 Allah - there is no god but He. His are the most excellent names. 8 And has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 9 When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire. 10 And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)! 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. 16 And what is in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 Allah said: cast it down, O Musa! 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 He said: Take hold of it and fear not; We will restore it to its former state: 21 "And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign, 22 But We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
