1/2 Hizb 35
< random >
[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Surely those who stand in awe for fear of their Lord, 57 And those who believe in the communications of their Lord, 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 to God, these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 My verses were recited to you, but you turned upon your heels, 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 Or say they: "There is madness in him?" Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. "(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Quran (C) The religion of Islam,"] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. 70 If truth had followed their whims and desires, heavens and earth and all that lives in them would have been brought to ruin. Rather We have brought them their Reminder. Yet they keep avoiding their Reminder. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 (They are such) that We seized them with chastisement (and yet) they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor do they entreat 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
