۞ And those who expect not for a Meeting with Us (i.e. those who deny the Day of Resurrection and the life of the Hereafter), say: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they think too highly of themselves, and are scornful with great pride. 21 The Day they see the angels,- no joy will there be to the sinners that Day: The (angels) will say: "There is a barrier forbidden (to you) altogether!" 22 And We turned all the deeds they had performed into scattered floating specks of dust. 23 And for the People of the Garden on that day is a better destination and account, and a better place of afternoon rest. 24 And on the Day whereon the heaven shall be rent asunder from the clouds and the angels shall be sent down with a great descending. 25 on that Day [it will become obvious to all that] true sovereignty belongs to the Most Gracious [alone]: hence, a Day of distress will it be for all who deny the truth, 26 The sinner will then bite his hand and say: "Would that I had taken the road with the Prophet. 27 "Ah! woe is me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! 28 For it was he, who had deluded me to reject the Admonition which had come to me. Satan has proved very treacherous to man. " 29 The Messengers will say, "Lord, my people had abandoned this Quran." 30 And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the sinners and sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and a Helper. 31 Those who deny the truth say, "Why was the Quran not sent down to him in a single revelation?" We sent it in this manner, so that We might strengthen your heart. We gave it to you in gradual revelation. 32 and [that] they [who deny the truth] might never taunt thee with any deceptive half-truth without Our conveying to thee the [full] truth and [providing thee] with the best explanation. 33 Those who will be pushed faces forward into Hell will be in a worse position, farther away from the path. 34
