And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 He said: Have you then considered what you have been worshipping: 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
