The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
