The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
