Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 nor a loving friend. 101 (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
