Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
