And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
